Indication:

1.Allergic conditions, e.g. asthma, allergic skin affections (eczema, urticaria, pruritis,...),laminitis in horses and cattle, snake-bites.Stress- and shock conditions.

2Metabolic disorders such as: ketosis in cattle and puerperal toxaemia in ewes and sows.

3.Non-infectious inflammatory processes, epecially acute musculoskeletal inflammations such as: arthritis, periarthritis, tendovaginitis, bursitis, luxations, myositis,osselets and sprains.

4.As an aid in acute infectious diseases (e.g. acute mastitis, metritis, pneumonia, polyarthritis in calves) in combination with suitable anti-infectious therapy.

5.Induction of parturition in ruminants during the last stage of pregnancy (delivery within 2-4 days).

Warnings:

1.Special care should be taken if used during the last trimester of pregnancy (Partus induction and premature parturition may occur).

2.If infection is present or suspected, corticoid therapy should be supported by appropriate antimicrobial therapy (suppression of immune response). 

3.Long-term treatment with higher doses may cause symptoms of hypercorticism.

Since abrupt cessation of chronic administration may result in adrenocortical insufficiency (symptoms of hypocorticism), gradual withdrawal is advisable following a prolonged course of administration.

4.Other possible adverse effects are: allergic reactions and laminitis; decrease of milk production; retentio secundinarum, endometritis and birth of premature calves after induction of parturition.

Direction:

sheep,goats, calves: (2-4 mg/50kg)  1-2 ml/50kg

cats, dogs: (0.1-0.2 mg/kg b/w/)   0.25-0.5 ml/5 kg

cattle, horses: (2.5-5 mg/100 kg b.w.)  5-10 ml/400 kg

(Repeat with 2 days intervals in dogs and cats and 3-4 days intervals in other animals if

necessary).
